Working To Empower is currently involved in various HIV/AIDS education projects within several countries in Africa. The main goal is to increase knowledge concerning the virus and foster a sense of community responsibility concerning the response. Working To Empower has created a peer education incentive program where locals who participated in seminars continued education and sensitization in their community. Focusing on local empowerment, locally based organizations determine the methods and target groups for the education projects, which follow seminars. Current partnerships for HIV/AIDS works are based in: Nygragusu refugee camp in Tanzania; Lugufu refugee camp in Tanzania; Baraka in Eastern DR Congo; in multiple IDP camps in northern Uganda; refuges based in Cotonou, Benin; Kpomassè refugee camp in Benin; River State in eastern Nigeria, and Hamar in Southern Ethiopia.

The projects are done collaboration with RESPECT International, ARTHUM (Democratic Republic of Congo), CELA and NECH (Tanzania), and GPER (Benin), UNHCR, Roots and Shoots (JGI Tanzania), Caritas, ACDA (Uganda), and SOC (Uganda). Working To Empower leads community awareness meetings, trains individuals in above-mentioned areas, provides reliable information about protection from contracting HIV/AIDS, and fosters local responsibility and motivation for continued education.
